Measure G is critical for our Community. The candidates for City Council have studied the issues facing Folsom. All six City Council candidates for the seats in District 2 and 4 showed their support for Measure G at the Chamber of Commerce forum on August 19th.
A simple, straightforward question was asked, “Do you support Measure G?” All six candidates raised their hands.
Every single candidate is smart, knowledgeable and committed to the city and community of Folsom, our quality of life, and the long-term ability of Measure G to stabilize vital service delivery to our residents and businesses.

“Chamber supports Folsom Measure G, a proposed 1-cent sales tax that is expected to generate $29 million annually for local services such as police, fire, parks, trails, and economic development. The Chamber emphasized that this revenue would remain in Folsom, with up to 40% of the funds potentially coming from visitors who utilize local services but do not reside in the city.”

“The city faces mounting infrastructure and building maintenance needs that lack a dedicated funding source. There is an estimated $20 million annual shortfall in funding for infrastructure improvements, park and facility repairs, equipment maintenance and replacements, trail maintenance and repairs, and staffing needs.
The five-year forecast predicts this structural deficit will grow as the cost of providing services outpaces revenue growth. A multimillion-dollar annual shortfall is projected by 2026.”
